RESOURCES

The North American Spinal Cord Injury Consortium (NASCIC) has the mission to bring about unified achievements in research, care, cure, and policy by supporting collaborative efforts across the spinal cord injury community. Their Research Advocacy Course is an exceptional resource for all patient’s, caregiver’s, and clinician’s. Membership is free.

United Spinal Association represents our nation’s 5.5 million wheelchair users. We proudly trace our roots to the paralyzed World War II vets who came home to an inaccessible nation and made it their new mission to create a fully inclusive society. We honor them by using today’s tools to directly provide top-notch service and resources to our members, chapters, and the broader disability community.
We are dedicated to curing spinal cord injury by advancing innovative research and improving quality of life for individuals and families impacted by paralysis. We believe in empowering those affected by paralysis with the best knowledge, resources and support. We believe in the power of “we” not “me”. We believe you should not be alone. We believe in cures that improve and enhance “lives well-lived”. We believe that people with paralysis have a right to a life with dignity. We believe in a diversity of research done collaboratively and responsibly without impediment. We believe that every story is unique.
Praxis is a Canadian-based not-for-profit organization that leads global collaboration in spinal cord injury research, innovation and care. We accelerate the translation of discoveries and best practices into improved treatments for people with spinal cord injuries.
The National Spinal Cord Injury Statistical Center (NSCISC), located at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, supports and directs the collection, management and analysis of the National SCIMS Database.
